At Grapevine Nursery School our founding director is a trained teacher with many years’ experience of working in mainstream nurseries.

 

Our staff are childcare professionals, chosen for an understanding of child development and a caring, enthusiastic manner. Senior staff have worked together for many years at the nursery, and are steeped in its Highscope educational philosophy.

 

Two members of staff  hold degrees in Early Childhood Studies, and have Early Years Professional Status. One is our manager, and the other our language co-ordinator.

 

Grapevine Nursery School’s deputy manager is our SENCO, and has completed accredited training to Level 3. Other staff have achieved Level 3 childcare qualifications. We are active in developing training programmes for nursery nurse apprentices. Work rotas are arranged to ensure children have the same carer throughout the day.

 

We encourage parents’ involvement in the work of the nursery via children’s diaries, records of achievement, parents’ meetings, and by setting practical homework topics that mums and dads can complete with their youngsters, thus supporting learning objectives at home.
